Homemade Pizza Dough is Easier Than You Think

I found a few pizza dough recipe that have inspired me to whip up new pizza recipes this summer. Did you know that you can whip up fresh homemade pizza in under 2 hours? I can guarantee that once you give this a try, you won’t be purchasing store-bought pizza dough anymore!

Follow along on the process on this IG Reel.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cups water warm (not hot!)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 rapid rise yeast packet

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

The Process:

  1. In a small mixing bowl, add the warm water (should be slightly warm, not hot), the yeast packet and half of the sugar. Mix until combine and then wait about 7 minutes or until you see bubbles forming in the mixture.

  2. In a separate large bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt.

  3. Add 1/2 the wet mixture to the dry mixture and start mixing with your hands or a spatula. Add the rest of water and start kneading until dough is fully formed into a round rough ball.

  4. Lightly flour your work surface/counter and knead the dough until it's smooth and springs back when poked.

  5. Use olive oil to coat the dough ball. Place it in a greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm draft-free place (I place mine inside my microwave- it was off obviously) to rise for about an hour or until the dough has doubled in size.

  6. Preheat the oven to 450F degrees. When the dough has doubled, press it down and shape into a pizza disk. You can knead it a few times if the texture needs some smoothing out.

  7. After your dough has been shaped, you add sauce, cheese and your choice of toppings.

  8. Bake at 450F for about 15-20 minutes or until golden.

  9. Enjoy!

XOXO
