The 5 Serums I Swear By for Oily Skin!

I can vividly remember after turning 29 years old, deciding to step up my skincare game. No shade on drugstore products because I still love my L'Oréal and Revlon makeup and Tresseme conditioners. But with getting older and wanting to maintain this youthful skin, I needed to invest in better quality products to achieve that, and I personally couldn’t find that at the drugstore. Using “clean” ingredient products that were free of toxins was also a priority for me and I knew I had to look elsewhere.

At the time, I’d heard nothing but great things about the wonders that serums can do for the skin, especially overnight. Naturally, as a skincare enthusiast, I needed to get in on this.

Fast forward to today, I've had the opportunity of giving a few serums a try that works best for me and my oily skin. And trust me… I’ve tried a few that made me break out after a day of trying them since they clogged up my pores. So I’ve dealt with the good, the bad, and the ugly.

So I’ve to put together a list of serums that I’ve tried and always have in my skincare rotation.

  1. Sephora Collection Targeted Wrinkle Serum w/ 1% Bakuchiol- $20

    • Thin Creamy lotion-like consistency and melts into the skin. A great plant-based retinol alternative

  2. Biossance Squalane + 10% Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum- $65

    • Thin Creamy lotion-like feel. Noticed a significant change in my skin’s texture after a week of use, coupled with regular exfoliation.

  3. Topicals Faded Serum for Dark Spots & Discoloration- $38

    • Thick consistency and some odor but nothing crazy. Very moisturizing and great for treating hyperpigmentation

  4. Paula’s Choice CLINICAL 1% Retinol Treatment- $62

    • Thick and creamy lotion-like consistency. I notice more plumpness in my skin after several uses

  5. Sephora Collection Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum- $20

    • Thin oil consistency that leaves your skin looking dewy and moisturized

XOXO
